They experienced difficulties finding suitable friction material for one of their older tram types and turned to us for a customized solution.<\/p>\n<p>After review of the specification we offered one of our moulded qualities which has a high percentage of fibres dispersed through the mix. This gives the material extra strength and stiffness which therefore lends itself well for being drilled and attached to the brake shoe with rivets.<\/p>\n<p>The material performs well, gives a smooth braking performance and does not squeal much to the appreciation of the passengers. Since the start of the project, customers whole fleet has been refitted with the new materials.
